Dr. Edward Atler specializes in arthroscopy at New Mexico Orthopaedics, particularly knee and shoulder problems, sports medicine and joint replacements. He has been practicing orthopedics in New Mexico for more than 25 years.
Dr. Atler opted to specialize in orthopaedics during his first year of medical school , a fulfilling choice he has never regretted. He adheres to the philosophy that to achieve the best results, treatment must be a collaborative effort between the physician, the patient, the family and other healthcare providers.
After Dr. Atler completed formal medical training, he joined the United States Air Force and served on active duty as Chief of Orthopaedic Services at Sheppard AFB USAF Regional Hospital.
Dr. Atler has also served as a clinical associate professor in the department of orthopedics at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.
In addition to his enjoyment of building and fixing things both on and off the job, Dr. Atler takes pleasure in an assortment of activities such as working with horses and dogs, digital photography and computer technology.
