Dr. Floyd Pacheco Jr. is a native of New Mexico and has been with New Mexico Orthopaedics since 2004. He was born and raised in Santa Fe and is a graduate of Capital High School. His major specialty is surgical treatment of complex foot, ankle and leg deformities. He also treats a significant amount of trauma to the lower extremity. Dr. Pacheco provides quality care of such traumas and reconstructive surgery along with an open door policy to each of his patients.
As an athlete in high school and college, Dr. Pacheco sustained multiple lower extremity injuries. During his college years, he had the opportunity to shadow a podiatric physician and quickly realized the personal fulfillment possible and the service he could provide by performing surgery and treating athletic injuries, as well as delivering quality and crucial care to diabetic patients.
Dr. Pacheco went on to receive extensive specialized training in the utilization of external fixation, as he completed a fellowship in the Ilizarov technique at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics (RISC RTO) in Kurgan, Russia.
Dr. Pacheco has served as a podiatric physician at various sporting events of the Miami Heat, Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins.
Dr. Pacheco enjoys being back in New Mexico to treat patients in the area where he was raised. His dedication to his family and his community are very important factors in his life. Away from the office, he participates in training, working out and exercise including activities such as golf, running and skiing.
