New Mexico Orthopaedics strives to help patients return to activity after an injury as quickly as possible. When the injury is work-related, however, we recognize that there are many more entities that are highly interested in the patient's quick recovery. When a person is injured on the job, the employer wants that key individual back on the job as quickly as possible. The longer the person is away, the more productivity in the workplace is affected. Also, an employer may have to shift workers around to cover the workload while the injured employee recovers from the on-the-job injury. Case managers and insurance adjusters may also be involved, as they try to steer the person through the medical community so that the injured worker gets to the best specialist as quickly as possible. These people will also want to see that the best, most appropriate care is provided to that work. New Mexico Orthopaedics has an internal team called WorkLink that focuses on meeting the needs of all these interested parties. WorkLink can provide a quick door into the clinic for progress notes on patients, status reports, light duty return to work dates, etc. If you are a case manager, adjuster or employer, we welcome you to call WorkLink. The dedicated WorkLink number for case managers, adjusters and employers is 866-350-9675, and the fax number is 505-764-9770.
